Bring the beauty of a Maryland summer to your home with this watercolor ornament featuring the Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta), Maryland's beloved state flower.
Rather than focusing on a single blossom, this artwork captures what makes the Black-eyed Susan so unforgettable—a winding country path bordered by thousands of golden blooms stretching across rolling hills beneath a warm summer sky. A classic white farmhouse and weathered split-rail fence complete the timeless rural landscape, celebrating both the flower and the place it calls home.
The reverse side features the flower's scientific name, Maryland's adoption date, an interesting botanical fact, and its collection number in our American Flower Collection, making this ornament both beautiful and educational.
Whether you're a Maryland native, a gardener, a wildflower enthusiast, or someone who treasures America's natural beauty, this ornament is a meaningful keepsake that can be enjoyed year after year.
